Director
Simon combines both an academic background, a wealth of practical experience and involvement in numerous state of the art engine and vehicle development and design projects. Simon’s background also includes a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering and research on advanced combustion diagnostics in high-speed IC engines.

Director
Nick started his career at the university of Auckland, where he studied a bachelor of engineering, mechanical and was heavily involved in the UoA Formula SAE team. Nick brings 15 years of experience designing, manufacturing and testing complex vehicle assemblies, including transmissions and ground up engine design.

Cam Walker
Engineer
Cam holds a Bachelor of Mechatronics from the University of Auckland and led the electronics subgroup in the UoA Formula SAE team. He managed the engineering team and machine shop at Jackson Electrical, contributing to R&D in both electrical and mechanical projects. With expertise in design, development, and testing, he specializes in automotive systems, particularly in wiring, electronics, and calibration.

Alexander Faulconbridge
Engineer
Alex earned a Mechanical Engineering Honours degree from the University of Auckland. He contributed to the Formula SAE team, specializing in suspension and steering systems. At Dodson Motorsport, he developed high-power dual clutch vehicle components and streamlined design and production systems. His experience reflects expertise in mechanical design, particularly in automotive engineering, with a focus on performance and production efficiency.

Engineer
After completing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) alongside four years of heavy Formula SAE commitment, Blake’s professional career started in R&D and Special Projects at an AS9100 certified aerospace manufacturer before pivoting to Quality Engineering at a New Zealand rocket company. Blake brings a unique set of hands-on engineering skills combined with a keen interest in process-driven documentation and standards.

Johan Botha
Engine Build Technician
Johan, a seasoned automotive expert with 35 years of hands-on experience, specializes in high-performance upgrades for supercars like Lamborghini and Nissan GTR. His role at Dodson Motorsport involved developing and testing dual clutch and gear sets, along with preparing engines ranging from 800 to 3000hp for global clients. Now, he leads our engine assembly team, bringing his meticulous approach and technical prowess to elevate our capabilities.

Stephen brings 15 years of high-level machining experience following his stint at Buckley Systems. As a New Zealand Representative Archer, Stephen holds himself to a high standard and this shows in the quality of work he produces. In his spare time, Stephen can be found coaching archery or climbing rock walls.

With a background in warehouse management and inventory control, his responsibilities include component ordering, supplier monitoring, and kit preparation. Dynamometer Cell and Testing
Our installation features a custom-designed water break dyno paired with an in-house developed control system, empowering us to conduct comprehensive performance evaluations.
At the heart of our facility lies the ability to replicate real-world driving conditions with unparalleled accuracy. From simulating laps to executing gear shifts and crafting bespoke power ramps, our dyno cell offers a dynamic platform for testing engines under a myriad of scenarios.
With a capacity to handle engines generating upwards of 950kW and revving to 15,000rpm, our facility is geared towards pushing the boundaries of performance testing.
